Stand on the coast and look out to sea. You’ll see waves rising, falling and caressing the shore. You’ll see a vast ocean surface whose empty horizons hold the promise of exotic distant lands. But look again. Look closer.
These are the Celtic Seas, just off the coast of the British Isles offering many different habitats to millions of different life forms. But they need protecting. Because over-exploitation, pollution and climate change present a serious threat to these delicately balanced ecosysytems.
That’s why the Celtic Seas Partnership, led by WWF, is working with communities and industries that depend on these waters and, thanks to the valuable support of players of People’s Postcode lottery, we can really make a difference.’
