Seaweed Farming |
WWF Cymru contacted us to help them promote Seaweed Farming as a sustainable and regenerative practice. We created a film that explains the complex benefits of Seaweed farming to the environment and communities of Wales and to advocate for healthy and resilient Welsh seas. We show innovative uses for seaweed (like animal feed to reduce methane), and promote its potential as a sustainable food source. WWF Cymru aims to scale up seaweed farming in Wales, potentially creating coastal and rural jobs while restoring marine ecosystems.
We produced the animation in its entirety working in tandem with the client we helped developed the script, illustrated and animated the film and directed the voice over and music production. A English and Welsh film was created to make sure all of the coastal communities of Wales receive the important message.
The film helped WWF Cymru receive almost £1 million over three years from the National Lottery Community Fund to work with coastal communities in Pembrokeshire to develop a model of community-led regenerative seaweed farming and support the scale-up of a sustainable, responsible UK-wide industry that benefits local communities, nature and the climate.
